Microbe and Gasoline is a sweet road movie cum coming-of-age tale of two misfits. They connect to each other through unseen threads of geeky-ness and that's where the charm lies. Gondry's vision of innocence is seen through a lens of subtle sentimentality where he doesn't go too hard on his two lead characters who are out on an adventure.
