The Mad Executioners actually has two seemingly unrelated plot lines. The first involves a powerful, but secret society operating outside official channels that has set up its own court of sorts. They hold trials, render verdicts, and carry out sentencing.
The Mad Executioners may not be a wrestling film but it handles the same themes wrestling does: society, ethics, moral values and issues of authority. In examining the film’s gory details, it’s a wild, outrageous work that has been called everything from cult-ish to elegant.
The Mad Executioners (Der Henker von London; another English release title The Executioner of London) is a 1963 German detective movie directed by Edwin Zbonek and based on the novel "The White Carpet" by Bryan Edgar Wallace (son of better known Edgar Wallace).
In a secret location in London, a group of hooded vigilantes holds a mock court dispensing justice to those vial criminals who have escaped punishment for their crimes. The court tries, judges and passes sentence on the villains. The sentence is death by hanging.
