Two Comrades Were Serving ( Sluzhili dva tovarishcha) is a 1968 movie by Yevgeni Karelov starring Oleg Yankovskiy as Andrei Nekrasov, Rolan Bykov as Ivan Karyakin and Vladimir Vysotskiy as Alexander Brusentsov. The story takes place in 1920 in Southern Russia.
The first story line of the movie follows two Red Army soldiers: unlikely friends Nekrasov and Karyakin. The second story line is about a White Guard officer Brusentsov who is devoted to Russia and his cause but sees it being destroyed day by day.
