Aki Kaurismki, an eccentric Finnish auteur whose bleak, austere vision of down-and-outers is counterpointed with a wry, gallows humor. He has some similar stylistic devices as Wes Anderson, except where Anderson’s tone is all hugs and sunshine Kaurismki’s is caustic and gloom.
