Edens Lost is a 1989 Australian mini-series based on the novel of the same title by Sumner Locke Elliott, produced by Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and Central Independent Television. [1] Gillian Armstrong and Margaret Fink had planned to make a film version in the late 70s.

The novel is a family saga told through the eyes of 16-year-old Angus Weekes who goes to live with the St James family in the Blue Mountains area of New South Wales after the death of his guardian.
Edens Lost is an engaging read, and feels more purposeful than the forgettable second novel in the Elliott canon, Some Doves and Pythons. Still, fifty years after publication, it feels woefully archaic.
