Plot. Alex and his girlfriend Jenny arrive at a provincial park to go camping for the weekend in hopes of exploring a trail he loved when he was younger. Alex refuses a map from the park ranger, confident that he knows the park well.
Alphonsine, growing up motherless in absolute poverty, goes alone to Paris and finds work as a seamstress. In the evening most of the girls she works with are whores but one is a cloakroom attendant at the opera house and takes her there to help.
