The Mill on the Po (Italian: Il mulino del Po) is a 1949 Italian historical drama film directed by Alberto Lattuada and starring Carla Del Poggio, Jacques Sernas and Mario Besesti. It is based on the third part of the novel of the same name by Riccardo Bacchelli. It premiered at the 1949 Venice Film Festival.
The Mill on the Po, trilogy of novels by Riccardo Bacchelli, first published in Italian as Il mulino del Po in 1938–40. The work, considered Bacchelli’s masterpiece, dramatizes the conflicts and struggles of several generations of a family of millers.
