Crossfire (1947), one of the best film noirs to come out of RKO Studios, is a film of many firsts. It was executive producer Dore Schary's first film for RKO (he would take over as chief of production at MGM in 1948).
In the summer of 1947 RKO released Crossfire, a tight murder thriller attacking Semitic prejudice, which also happens to be the first film in which the word "Jew" was uttered on the American screen. It was a hit both critically and financially.
