This pre-code Columbia film takes place in a huge boarding house right near the Queensborough bridge on the east side of Manhattan. The various tenants and their landlady (the always amusing Maude Eburne) intermingle mostly happily, although for heroine Dorothy Tree, happiness has seemingly bypassed her.
