17-year-old Yu Gwan-Sun ( Ko Ah-Sung) participates in the Korean independence movement. The country is under the rule of Japan, which annexed the country in 1910. Yu Gwan-Sun is arrested and sent to Seodaemun Prison.
The Japanese security chief senses the resistance, entices an inmate to find out YU Gwan-sun is behind it, then tortures her. Later, Gwan-sun pretends to obey the Japanese while secretly planning another independence protest.
The film focuses on the courageous 17-year-old protagonist, Yu Gwan-Sun, a symbol of resistance against tyranny. Set against the backdrop of unjust imprisonment, the story authentically captures the unimaginable distress and physical suffering endured by those fighting for liberation.
