Aug 27, 2021 · ELLIE & ABBIE (& ELLIE'S DEAD AUNT) is Australian writer-director Monica Zanetti's coming-of-age drama about titular high school senior Ellie (Sophie Hawkshaw), who has a crush on her classmate and project partner Abbie (Zoe Terakes) and wants to ask her to the Year 12 formal dance.
School captain Ellie is seriously crushing on her rebellious classmate Abbie. Determined to ask her first love to the year 12 formal, Ellie devises a plan to go public with the invitation but before she can go through with it, her dead aunt Tara reappears from beyond the grave.
