Synopsis. The film begins at a Russian space station where a cosmonaut is working outside, singing Frank Sinatra songs in Russian. A piece of space debris flies into the space station, spinning it out of control and sending the cosmonaut into deep space.
With global superpowers engaged in an increasingly hostile arms race, Superman leads a crusade to rid the world of nuclear weapons. But Lex Luthor, recently sprung from jail, is declaring war on the Man of Steel and his quest to save the planet.
Superman IV: The Quest for Peace is the fourth and final Superman movie, and the fifth in the series overall including Supergirl. Released four years after the third installment and nine after the first, it was the only movie in the series that did not involve Ilya Salkind .
