Overall: 4/5. F.P.1 Doesn’t Answer is a fascinating film which Kino has done justice in bringing to Blu-ray. The presentation retains a pleasing film-like quality, and compelling bonus features include a very insightful commentary along with the English language alternate version of the film.
F.P.1 is a huge airplane landing dock in the Atlantic where pilots making the transatlantic flight can stop. Yet a saboteur tries to sink the technical wonder in this classic German science fiction film from 1932. The film was also created with English and French speaking actors at the same time.
Lieutenant Droste wants to build an air station in the middle of the ocean to allow pilots on intercontinental flights to refuel and repair any damage to their aircraft. With the help of the pilot Ellissen, he manages to win the support of the Lennartz-Werke for the project.
