Synopsis. George Caldwell (Gene Wilder) is a divorced and mild-mannered book editor that wants to relax and take a train to Chicago for the next 2 days so he can "be bored for a while". Shortly after getting on the train, he meets a friendly vitamin salesman named Bob Sweet (Ned Beatty).
