Mar 5, 2015 · As others have noted elsewhere Mara Maru is almost a completely recycled telling of John Huston’s The Maltese Falcon, with Flynn taking the Bogart’s role, Ruth Roman taking Mary Astor’s, Raymond Burr standing in for Sydney Greenstreet and Paul Picerni doubling Peter Lorre.
Whatever it is, somebody wants it badly enough to kill Andy and frame Mason for murder. Cleared by an insinuating private eye, Mason is immersed in intrigue, with detective Rainier, sinister Benedict, mysterious Ortega, and Andy's comely widow all somehow involved.
