Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland (released as Nightmare Vacation III in the United Kingdom) is a 1989 American slasher film and the third installment in the Sleepaway Camp film series. Written by Fritz Gordon and directed by Michael A. Simpson, it stars Pamela Springsteen as Angela, Tracy Griffith, Mark Oliver, and Michael J. Pollard.
Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland. This time, the camp set in the deep, dark woods is a camp for troubled youths. The psychotic killer that has roamed the woods and been the topic of many ghost stories, is still lurking about.
Angela Baker, a serial killer who impersonates a young girl, returns to Camp New Horizons, where she terrorized and murdered several campers the year before. She continues her bloody rampage, killing anyone who gets in her way, while the camp owners and counselors try to stop her.
In the sea of genre flicks and even within the threesome of Camp visits, Teenage Wasteland has received the short end of the stick. But operating from that place is what helps make it what is is: an underrated underdog of a home video classic.
