In the face of rebellion in Russia, Czar Alexander II sends soldier Michael Strogoff 2,000 miles away, with a critical message for Grand Duke Vladimir. On the train journey, Michael befriends a traveler and comes into contact with a mysterious spy, who both unexpectedly aid him in his quest.
A Russian courier struggles to deliver a message to the troops fighting Tartar invaders. In Siberia, in 1879, allied Tartar and Mongol hordes, under the leadership of the vulgar rebel Ivan Ogareff, pillage the land and threaten the Tsar Alexander II's rule.
Along the way, he helps a lady in distress (Elizabeth Allen of "A Tale of Two Cities" and "David Copperfield") while dealing with a Mata Hari like spy (Margot Grahame) and striving to avoid capture by Muslim enemies.
