Deep Forest is a French music project that originally began as a duo consisting of Michel Sanchez and Éric Mouquet. [2] . They compose a style of world music, sometimes called ethnic electronica, mixing ethnic with electronic sounds and dance beats or chillout beats. Their sound has been described as an "ethno-introspective ambient world music".

French group originally consisting of Eric Mouquet and Michel Sanchez. They helped popularize the so-called "Global Pop", ambient music combined with ethnic sounds. Their song "Sweet Lullaby" became a major hit and in the US over 2 million Deep Forest albums were sold.
Deep Forest, and their eponymous debut LP appeared in 1993. Propelled by the international hit "Sweet Lullaby," Deep Forest was a surprise success; Eric Mouquet and Michel Sanchez soon began work on a follow-up, Boheme, appeared in 1995; the third Deep Forest record, Comparsa, followed in 1998, with Live in Japan appearing a year later.
