Drugstore are a London-based alternative and dream pop band, led by Brazilian singer-songwriter and bassist Isabel Monteiro (born 9 September 1965, São Paulo, Brazil), formed with Dave Hunter (later replaced by Daron Robinson) on guitar and Mike Chylinski on drums.
The band was formed in 1993 when Isabel Monteiro and american drummer Mike Chylinski shared a flat in East London. As a rhythm session, they played for about a year or so in a succession of going-nowhere small-time bands, but soon Monteiro started writing songs and decided to put their own band together.
Mike Chylinski, a musician, photographer and writer, lives with his wife and four cats in northeast Los Angeles. His photos have appeared in Shots Magazine and L.A. Architect as well as in music magazines and on album covers, and in the Lomo book Don’t Think*Just Shoot.
Mike Chylinski and Brian Cuyler are two powerhouses of knowledge and curiosity who love talking about every aspect of the wet plate process and photography in general. The flow of the workshop is natural and intuitive, the approach is practical and hands-on, and the pace is set by you!
