Peter Michael Thomas (born 9 August 1954) is an English rock drummer best known for his collaboration with singer Elvis Costello, both as a member of his band the Attractions and with Costello as a solo artist.
Pete Thomas started life in Hillsborough, Sheffield and formed his first band in Hartley, Kent at age ten. Having moved with his family to Seaford, Sussex Pete attended Lewes Priory School and the Sussex Music School.

Costello’s songwriting skills took another turn, getting him onto a large platform of demand. All along, Thomas remained his more trusted rhythmic partner, defining every song that came up, hence building a long-term partnership.
