Rooney first formed as Ed Rooney in 1999. The original lineup consisted of Robert Schwartzman, Matthew Winter on bass, Teddy Briggs on drums, and Matthew Star (née Srolestar) and Taylor Locke on guitar. Ned Brower replaced Briggs as drummer and Louie Stephens was added as keyboardist.
Taylor Locke is the lead guitarist of the band Rooney, which he co-founded with Robert Schwartzman in 1999. He was born in Los Angeles in 1984 and has appeared in four films, including The Hills Have Eyes 2.
