Gaius Claudius Nero (c. 237 BC – c. 189 BC) was a Roman general active during the Second Punic War against the invading Carthaginian force, led by Hannibal Barca. During a military career that began as legate in 214 BC, he was praetor in 212 BC, propraetor in 211 BC during the siege of Capua, before being sent to Spain that same year.
Gaius Claudius Nero, Roman military commander during the latter half of the Second Punic War (218–201 bce). He was elected co-consul in 207 bce and later that year engineered a Roman victory at the Battle of the Metaurus (Metauro) in northeastern Italy.

Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus ( / ˈnɪəroʊ / NEER-oh; born Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus; 15 December AD 37 – 9 June AD 68) was a Roman emperor and the final emperor of the Julio-Claudian dynasty, reigning from AD 54 until his death in AD 68.
Gaius Claudius Nero, served under M. *Claudius Marcellus (1) at Nola in 214 bce, and took part in the siege of Capua as praetor and propraetor (212/11). He was sent to Spain after the deaths of Cn. *Cornelius Scipio Calvus and P. *Cornelius Scipio (1), and succeeded in holding the situation until the arrival of *Scipio Africanus (211/0).
