Charles Joseph Chaput OFMCap (/ ˈ ʃ æ p j uː / SHAP-yoo; born September 26, 1944) is an American prelate of the Catholic Church. He was the ninth archbishop of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, serving from 2011 until 2020.
