Franciszek Macharski (Polish pronunciation: [fraɲˈt͡ɕiʂɛk maˈxarskʲi]; 20 May 1927 – 2 August 2016) was a Polish cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He was appointed Archbishop of Kraków from 1978, named by Pope John Paul II to succeed him in that role.
