Fairfield High School is a specialist school in the performing arts and was awarded this status from September 2004. Our school is an 11-16 mixed comprehensive school of 697 pupils and is situated to the north of Widnes town centre, in a pleasant residential area, easily accessible from the Motorways, M56 and M62, and the main road systems.

Fairfield High School was a mixed secondary school from 1974, it was extensively expanded and new buildings added, it opened the new build in 1994. There has been a school on the site since 1507. In 2010 Fairfield High School closed and was amalgamated into Wade Deacon High School as part of the governments Building Schools For The Future scheme.

Jul 8, 2010 · Fairfield High School is holding an open day to reflect on its life as it prepares to close on July 21 and merge with Wade Deacon. Former pupils and local residents are invited to browse round old pictures and memorabilia and have guided tours of the school on Saturday, from 9.30am to 12 noon.
Nov 17, 2023 · Fairfield High School (1967 2010) was a coeducational secondary school in Widnes, Cheshire. The school was founded as Farnworth Grammar School in 1507 by Bishop William Smyth and a school remained on the site until 2013. The historic school bell which was kept in the school hall dates from 1507.
