  3. Loreto College is an 11-18 Comprehensive Academy located near the centre of St Albans. It is a Catholic faith school, having been founded by the Loreto Sisters in 1922. The College has 955 pupils on roll: there are five forms of girls in years 7-11, and 170 girls & boys in the Sixth Form.

  4. Loreto College is a Roman Catholic secondary school and sixth form for girls located near the centre of St Albans, Hertfordshire, England. It achieved Specialist Status in the Humanities in 2005 and became an academy in August 2012.

  7. The school was founded primarily by Mary Ward, a Catholic nun born in 1585, who campaigned for Women’s education. She helped to set up the I.B.V.M: The Institute of Blessed Virgin Mary, which went on to start Loreto College, becoming the first provider of secondary schooling for girls in St Albans.
