The Capri funicular (Italian: Funicolare di Capri) is a funicular railway on the island of Capri, in the Campania region of Italy. The line connects the Marina Grande on the coast with the Piazza Umberto I in the centre of the island.

The funicular runs between the port in Marina Grande and the Piazzetta in Capri town above, taking just a few minutes to complete the trip. The Capri stop is behind the Piazzetta. Courses run every 15 minutes (for example: 9:00, 9:15, 9:30...), though during the most crowded times the funicular runs non-stop.

To get to the center of Capri from Marina Grande, the fastest method is the funicular, which climbs uphill through lemon groves and drops you directly in the Piazzetta. Feb 2, 2024 · Perhaps the easiest way to get yourself moving around Capri is to take the Funicular Railway from Marina Grande up to Capri Town. The journey takes just under 5 minutes and costs €1.80, easily making it the fastest and cheapest route between the two locations.
Borrowing from the popularity of the hillside trams that are widely used in Naples, the Capri funicular is located right in front of the Marina Grande. The inclined ride takes you past lovely terraced gardens and lemon groves, giving you a flowery welcome to the island.
