Bourbon Street Beat was intended to be the centre of ABC’s powerhouse trio aimed at dominance on Monday nights (preceded by Cheyenne and followed by the South Sea series, Adventures In Paradise) but the show was cancelled after its first season.
The show is set in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA and revolves around the lives of Rex Randolph (Long) and Cal Calhoun (Duggan), who run a detective agency called Randolph and Calhoun — Special Services. The agency is based in the Absinthe House, a French Quarter nightclub on Bourbon Street.
