The National University of Malaysia ( Malay: Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, abbreviated as UKM) is a public research university located in Bandar Baru Bangi, Hulu Langat District, Selangor, Malaysia. Its teaching hospital, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre (UKMMC), is located in Cheras and also has a branch campus in Kuala Lumpur .
UKM, as a public university of choice and the only National University in Malaysia, attracts local and international students by offering a vast number of programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Established on 18 May 1970, National University of Malaysia or UKM has successfully produced intellectuals and scholars who are among the nation’s pride. Starting out with only three faculties, it has since grown into 13 faculties, 13 research institutes of excellence and two commercial entities.
