The University of Bergen (Norwegian: Universitetet i Bergen) is a public research university in Bergen, Norway. As of 2021, the university had over 4,000 employees and 19,000 students. [1] It was established by an act of parliament in 1946 consolidating several scientific institutions that dated as fa back as 1825.

The University of Bergen was founded in 1946, making it Norway’s second oldest public university. Today it employs 1,272 academic staff in six faculties serving 14,800 students, 59 per cent of whom are women while 11 per cent are international.
Find course. Courses are the building blocks of a study programme. Some courses are only available for students admitted to specific study programmes, while others are open to all UiB students. Exchange students can choose from a variety of courses taught in English.
The University of Bergen is Norway's urban university, with most of its premises concentrated in two areas. Årstadvollen is the University's "health campus", where dentistry, medicine and health-care lie close to the Haukeland and Haraldsplass university clinics.
