Feb 2, 2022 · We met with the unclassifiable and iconoclastic Belgian artist, filmmaker, poet provocateur and agitator Jan Bucquoy on the occasion of the Belgian release of his latest film, The Last Temptation of the Belgians [+. ], which is the 3rd instalment of his cinematic autobiography and is deeply rooted in Belgium.
Bucquoy made paintings, sculptures, museums (his 'Slip Museum' devoted to underwear), films (of which 'La Vie Sexuelle des Belges' and 'Camping Cosmos' are the best known), and comics. He established the short-lived comic magazines Spetters (1981-1982) and Dol/Belge (1990) which featured offensive sex parodies.
