Harry Kurt Victor Mulisch ( Haarlem, 29 juli 1927 – Amsterdam, 30 oktober 2010) was een Nederlandse schrijver . Mulisch, de zoon van een Oostenrijks-Hongaarse vader die collaboreerde tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog en een Duits- Joodse moeder, groeide op tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog, die een sterke invloed op hem en zijn schrijverschap had.
Harry Mulisch was a prolific Dutch author known chiefly for his clear, economical prose. Mulisch’s maternal grandmother and great-grandmother died in German concentration camps, whereas his father was an official of a bank under German control; after World War II Mulisch’s father was sent to prison.
