Balarama Dasa (alternatively spelled Balaram Das; Odia: ବଳରାମ ଦାସ, romanized: Baḷarāma Dāsa, Odia: [bɔl̪ɔraːmɔ d̪aːsɔ] ⓘ; c. 1474-1522) was an Odia poet and litterateur.
Balarama Dasa is a teacher, writer, and guide. Born in California, he joined the Hare Krishna movement as a monk and has been serving in that way for the last fifteen years. Based in San Diego, he travels throughout the West coast and world sharing the message of Krishna Consciousness.
Mahat-tattva Dasa (later Swami B. A. Tirtha) encouraged him to stay in the temple for three months, which has now turned into more than fifteen years. Within the first two years, he met His Holiness Giriraj Swami Maharaja and was accepted as his formal disciple and given the name Balarama Dasa.
