The Lake House (released in Australia as The Magic Postbox) is a 2006 American fantasy romance film directed by Alejandro Agresti and written by David Auburn. A remake of the 2000 South Korean film Il Mare, it stars Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, who last appeared together in the 1994 action thriller film Speed. [2] .

Jun 15, 2006 · A woman ( Sandra Bullock) lives in a glass house built on stilts over a lake north of Chicago. She is moving out and leaves a note for the next tenant ( Keanu Reeves ). He reads the note and sends a strange response to the address she supplies: He thinks she has the wrong house, because "no one has lived in this house for years."
In 2004, he buys an old glass house by a lake, designed and built by his father, and finds a message in his mailbox from the former tenant, the also-lonely Dr. Kate Forster, asking to the new resident deliver her correspondence to an address downtown.
