However, the audio/visual quality was quite poor. All of the footage from the Battle of Five Armies actually came from a pirated screener DVD, which looks awful on any screen.

Aug 5, 2015 · Being R rated might spike some interest but it won't fix The Hobbit. Maybe the worms are actually used in this one. The filmmakers intended to bring The Hobbit to film and capture "the spirit" of the story. They watered everything down and padded the plotlines in order to stretch the material into three films.
The battle itself takes like an hour compared to the 5 pages in the book, but I didn't mind it. The book SKIPS the entire battle, which to be honest I was very disappointed about when I first read the book cause I like battles in books. If the movie skipped it that would be incredibly lame. It was too long though, I'll admit that.
