Uruguay (/ ˈ jʊər ə ɡ w aɪ / ⓘ YOOR-ə-gwy, Spanish: [uɾuˈɣwaj] ⓘ), officially the Oriental Republic of Uruguay (Spanish: República Oriental del Uruguay), is a country in South America.
