So insulates pipes, allows for small amount of expansion, stops any noises from pipes moving against walls and protects copper from possible attack from render / plaster corrosion. No joins inside wall runs and pressure test before mucking up wall.

Just fitted slexseal couplings to clay pipe, the clips are ss.304 so for extra protection, was thinking of putting petro tape/Denso tape around... Oct 13, 2008 · Can I use Denso Tape on a cold water fitting to stop a minor drip? The fitting is a 1/2" threaded connector into a shower valve assembly. PS This is a last resort after trying many different brands of connectors, PTFE tape, Boswhite etc. Cheers
Sep 13, 2023 · Just fitted slexseal couplings to clay pipe, the clips are ss.304 so for extra protection, was thinking of putting petro tape/Denso tape around clips , but worried it may eat the rubber . Is it safe to do so ?
Dec 9, 2022 · The chases are quite deep so I could easily pack them with foam lagging prior to plastering to create a barrier, though the Denso around the tails protruding from the wall would need removing. Would it be recommended to remove this in favour of something simpler and easier like duct tape? with a thin layer of lagging to allow for a little movement and expansion.

But I didn't think you were allow to run water pipes in screed ,might be wrong, (not uhf) nowadays due to water regs, thought it had to be in plastic channel,ducting,pipe sleeves.
Jun 19, 2021 · Screwfix Select. CT1 is good stuff but I doubt it will work you need to totally fill the joint around the pipe and remove any dirt before hand. What will work is Denso tape wrapped around the pipe a couple of times and smoothed down with your hands. If you think CT1 is messy you ain't worked with Denso tape!
Jun 5, 2015 · Some service (the main from the road) pipes were sleeved with a bitumen type coating, as said they were also wrapped in Denso tape a sticky rustproofing tape. Denso was sometimes used as a temporary fix by engineers while waiting for the guys that work on live service gas to turn up, but would never normally be left unattended.
