While for Curtin University in Australia like Perth, Sydney & etc are consider an onshore on-campus degree cert. However most employer will group Curtin Singapore, JCU & etc together with distance learning degree courses.

Feb 12, 2010 · Well, you dun have to "whack" the good unis. I studied in QUT, an average uni in Australia and I found myself a job. Most of my friends studying here found jobs almost immediately after returning to Singapore. While doing my DL course with Monash in Singapore, I know of friends getting job offers after graduating within months.
Feb 12, 2010 · World ranking of 355 is bad for Australian Universities. Even in Australia, it is not regarded by local students as the top tier university, probably 2nd or 3rd class. In comparison, University of Sydney and University of Melbourne are both tied at world ranking of 36. So that gives you an idea where James Cook stands at.

From public sector point of view, this is equivalent to a distance learning degree (In your term, it is a private degree) because your 'on-campus' school is not located in the university country. So if you want to work in public/government sector such as SAF for commission officer positions, it will not be recognized.
