Oct 5, 2021 · This saved my butt big time yesterday. Got in the car pressed start and got one click and nothing. Golf clubs locked in trunk. Checked manual for way in trunk and there is no way in the trunk if power is out. Googled release trunk chevy malibu and this is the second result. Tossed clubs in my 4Runner and made my tee time with about 2 min to spare.

Aug 31, 2023 · 2017 Malibu maintenance & concerns. Replaced the throttle body front two axles and battery. Last check engine light was at 44k (throttle body) i always get oil changed and tire rotations at 4000-4500 intervals. Just had the transmission fluid changed, oil changed, and engine filter changed at 54k. Did the cabin filter at 45k myself.
Oct 18, 2016 · The problem: When shifting to Park and turning off the engine a message may appear on the DIC that says "Shift to Park". While the engine turns off, certain electronics remain on if the "Shift to Park" message is displayed. This can lead to battery drain or failure and affects all trims and model years 2016-2019.

The causes of P1101 have been dirty throttle body, loose connection at the throttle body, clogged PCV orifice in the camshaft cover, and a couple times airbox or inlet and outlet pipe not sealed properly. Even tough it is a MAF code I think only once was it the MAF.

When I took it to the dealership that said it was the transmission which was replaced. It happened again they said it was the Turbo which was replaced. I just got it back because the ECM and brake pedal sensor was replaced.

Without knowing which codes it popped I can only speculate but that "engine power reduced" message comes from the throttle actuator control (TAC) system & is often resolved by replacing the throttle body assy. The "service traction" message is set for a long list of problems.
