Ling Siew May (1937 – 30 July 1999) was a Singaporean architect who served as the 5th Spouse of the President of Singapore from 1993 to 1999, to President Ong Teng Cheong. She founded ONG & ONG, an architecture and urban planning firm, with her husband in 1972.

It was at a Christmas party organized by his schoolmate in 1952 that President Ong Teng Cheong first met his wife and the great love of his life, Madam Ling Siew May. Teng Cheong was then a student at the Chinese High School while Siew May was studying at Nanyang Girls’ High School.

Nov 20, 2016 · Ling Siew May passed away on 30 July 1999 due to colon cancer. A motion was moved in the parliament in early August 1999, expressing sympathies to Ong Teng Cheong and his family. On 8 February 2002, Ong Teng Cheong succumbed to his long battle with lymphoma.
