Mar 27, 2023 · Even Cars 3 feels like it would be better at marketing towards car people as it has everything from the small local dirt derby races, nostalgia/legacy racers, and sticking it to big corporations that take the heart out of things for profit. Definitely makes Cars 2 feel cheap in that context with how short-sighted its design and execution went.
Feb 3, 2021 · Cars 2 is a good movie if it releases as it’s own movie separate from the cars movies. It has nothing really to do with racing and isn’t a great part of the trilogy. Like for example the toy story series was all a culmination and story of toys and specifically woody’s story as a parent of taking care of Andy and Bonnie.
Also, later that day I watched Cars 3. Again, just at the textual level (with the weird dreams and crash scenes) Cars 2 is still just a more tense watch. Even comparing it to Cars 1 (another film I watched recently), while Cars 1 has more action filled, "scary" scenes, the atmosphere of uncertainty is very similar.
In the Cars universe cars are people. That’s the central conceit. In Cars 2 the plot is a spy thriller world tour we’re the villains are a conspiracy of “lemons” or outdated cars that have a plan to discredit alternative fuel sources so everyone has to rely on the oil fields owned by the Lemon crime families to make the “normal” cars be at the mercy of the people they discriminated ...

The movie brought no plot points over from the first movie, and nothing from is was carried over to Cars 3. The movie is completely stand alone and I can only think of one reason. Doc Hudson.
Jun 29, 2017 · However, Cars 3 did not forget everything that happened in cars 2. Mcqueen went back to piston cup racing after cars 2 in the world grand prix. One of the racer Jeff Corvette from cars 2 makes a small cameo at the start of final race in florda 500. so Cars 3 does not forget everything.
Cars 2 (IMO) should have been a direct to dvd/home video release. Cars 1 spent so much time world building in Radiator Springs and pushing the ideas of loyalty and friendship with all of the characters that resides there that Cars 2 just seemed to have a “Caper” feel to it and felt like it was thrown together at the last minute.

Dec 27, 2020 · Up until Cars 2, Pixar seemed to be a perfection powerhouse, never capable of making a bad movie. Cars 2 ruined the streak, so that gets under people’s skin. In my eyes it seemed very Disney-direct-to-DVD-sequel quality. Not a great starting idea, and executed very “meh”.
Feb 2, 2019 · Cars 2 is one of the most unfairly reviewed movies I've ever seen. I've watched every Pixar movie ever made, and Cars 2 is still my favorite out of all of them. Here are some reasons why: (These are just my opinions.) I enjoy action better than emotion, and Cars 2 has the most action of all Pixar movies. Every third scene or so is a thrill ride!
