Yes he is. A disappointment is a bust. No one would want to draft a player like that number 1 overall. This sub has way too hard a time saying anyone is a bust, unless you are like Kwame Brown level. I’ve seen people talking that Markelle Fultz isn’t a bust.

Ayton is a below average #1, at least so far. But he projects to have a below average career for a #1 too. So certainly not a bust but when you’re the #1 pick and you’re not returning at least average value, you’re a dud for sure. Jun 15, 2021 · ADMIN MOD. How good is Deandre Ayton? The former #1 overall pick has been a really solid contributor for the Suns. However he has always been overshadowed by others in his draft class (notably Michael Porter Jr., SGA, Luka and Trae). And his 2 teammates in CP3 and Booker are widely lauded as the driving forces of the Suns success this season.
Deandre Ayton is a clown, a headcase and someone who doesn't care about winning. He got his deal and now he's on cruise control. Look at his free throw rate from last year. He would rather stay up all night and play NBA 2k (I'm not kidding) than actually improve his game. He's soft and apathetic. Every time he talks he says something stupid.
Definitely not a bust but not worth his draft spot. Imagine picking a man-child dunking on future sales managers over the 18 year old MVP of the 2nd best bball league. It's been 6 years since Ayton was drafted. For me he's tough to evaluate. Sure he's a walking double double but after 6 years all he has to show for….
Both guys are playing well and both their teams are winning games. Their stats are very similar: Ayton - 16.8/10.6/1.5 on .656 TS%. Allen - 16.3/11.0/1.9 on .709 TS%. They're also the same age at 23 years old (although Ayton is 3 months younger). Who do you consider the better player?
Robinson was also an elite defensive center whereas Ayton is below average on that end. I also don't see Ayton ever averaging in the neighborhood of 30 PPG like prime Robinson considering Robinson was getting to the FT line 10 times a game whereas Ayton only gets there two or three times. These David Robinson comparisons are absolutely ridiculous.
May 6, 2022 · He can shoot midrange shots. He is great at defense. He can make layups. He is one of the most important players on the Suns. Deandre Ayton is a very big reason why the Suns win games because he can score very well. I wish fans would respect Deandre Ayton because he is an amazing player who helps the Suns win their games.
