Antonio Javier Pujol[1] (born July 20, 1967) is an American college basketball coach, and the current head coach of the North Alabama Lions men's basketball team. [2] Pujol played both basketball and baseball at Sterling College in Kansas, where he earned all-conference honors in baseball three-straight seasons. [2]
Tony Pujol enters his seventh season as men's basketball head coach at North Alabama in 2024-25. The former assistant coach at the University of Wyoming was hired at UNA on April 2, 2018 and has nearly two decades of collegiate coaching experience. In 2022-23, Pujol led the Lions to their highest win total since 2013-14 with an 18-15 record.
During his first three seasons as an assistant coach, Pujol played a pivotal role in assisting the Crimson Tide to three consecutive 20-win seasons for the first time since the 1990, 1991 and 1992 campaigns - a span of just over 20 years.
