- Bald Eagle State Park. Bald Eagle State Park is a 5,900 acre recreational area in Centre County, approximately 25 miles northeast of State College. At the heart of Bald Eagle State Park is 1,730-acre Sayers Lake, built by the the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1969 as part of a flood control project.
- Black Moshannon State Park. Black Moshannon State Park is comprised of 3,394 acres of forests and wetlands in Centre County, and is further surrounded by 43,000 acres of the Moshannon State Forest.
- Poe Valley State Park. Poe Valley State Park is a 620 acre recreational area in Centre County, approximately 17 miles east of State College. As the name implies, the park sits in a valley between Big Poe Mountain to the north, and Little Poe Mountain to the south.
