GFriend (stylized in all caps; Korean: 여자친구; RR: Yeojachingu) was a South Korean girl group formed by Source Music in 2015. The group consisted of six members: Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB, and Umji.
GFRIEND ( 여자친구) was a girl group consisting of 6 members: Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB, and Umji. The group debuted on January 16, 2015 with the EP “ Season of Glass “, under Source Music which became a subsidiary company of Big Hit Entertainment (now known as HYBE Labels) in July 2019.
- 2015: Debut with Season of Glass and Flower Bud. In September 2014, Source Music announced the upcoming debut of their first girl group, named GFRIEND. In October 2014, pre-debut pictures featuring SinB, Umji, Yerin, Yuju, Eunha and Sowon were released.
- 2016: Snowflake and LOL. On January 13, a series of photos were uploaded onto the group’s official Instagram account, announcing their comeback with a caption announcing third mini album.
- 2017: The Awakening, Parallel, and Rainbow. On February 23, it was announced that the group will be making a comeback with their fourth mini album. Four days later, they released a video confirming their comeback with a girl crush concept, in contrast to the group's usual innocent image, the same day.
- 2018: First solo concert, Asia tour, Time for the Moon Night and Japanese debut. On January 6 and 7, GFRIEND held their first solo concert since debut, titled "Season of GFRIEND".
Jan 15, 2015 · The Gfriend members are Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB and Umji. They debuted in January 2015 and in that year they released 2 succesful EPs ( Season of Glass and Flower Bud ). In January 2016 they released their 3rd EP ( Snowflake) and in July their first full album ( LOL ).
- 2015: Season of Glass, Flower Bud, and rise in popularity. On January 15, 2015, GFriend released their five-track debut mini-album Season of Glass. The promotional track "Glass Bead", composed by Seo Yong-bae and Iggy, debuted at number twelve on Gaon's weekly chart.
- 2016: Snowflake, first music show wins and LOL. On January 25, 2016, GFriend released their third mini-album titled Snowflake with the title track "Rough".
- 2017: The Awakening, Parallel and first repackage. On February 23, 2017, Source Music announced that GFriend is set to make a comeback on March 6. On February 27, 2017, it was revealed that their fourth mini-album will be titled The Awakening with the title track "Fingertip".
- 2018: First solo concert, Time for the Moon Night, Japanese Debut, Sunny Summer and Memoria. GFriend started the year with their first solo concert since debut, titled Season of GFriend, on January 6 and 7, 2018.
