Poseidon is a 2006 American action disaster film directed and co-produced by Wolfgang Petersen. It is the third film adaptation of Paul Gallico's 1969 novel The Poseidon Adventure, and a loose remake of the 1972 film.

May 11, 2006 · It is one of the best adventure movies of recent years, with vivid characters, convincing special effects and a tangible feel for the relentless sea. Having made such considerable movies, Petersen does not seem to have been inspired by the opportunity to remake a movie that was not all that good to begin with.
