What to do if you find a missing pet. If you find a missing pet, hand it over to the Animal Management Centre (AMC) or SPCA. If the pet you found matches the description of a missing pet appearing in the classified ads section of a newspaper, or on notices or flyers, contact the owner directly.
If a licensed dog is found, AVS can quickly contact its licensee to reunite the pet. In addition, owners and caregivers are strongly encouraged to place an identification tag on the collar of the animal.
