Nov 27, 2018 · Beethoven’s Bagatelle No. 25 in A minor is rarely referred to in such grandiose terms; instead, all who know and love it refer to it simply by its nickname, ‘Für Elise’ (German for ‘for Elise’).
According to an existing autograph, it seems the second note in the right hand in bar 7 should be a d¹ instead of the e¹. Most of the other editions after Nohl erroneously show an e as well. The simple beginning of alternating E – D sharp is a minor second interval that sets the tone for the entire piece.
