The Government has introduced the Pioneer Generation Package to honour and thank our pioneers for their hard work and dedication in making Singapore what it is today. The package includes a host of initiatives aimed at making healthcare affordable for our Pioneer Generation for life.
The Pioneer Generation Package recognises that the retirement and living needs of Pioneers span a wide variety of areas. The package thus extends support to Pioneers across a range of ageing-related needs that they may have, including insurance and healthcare subsidies and disability assistance.
The Pioneer Generation Package will be for living Singapore Citizens who meet 2 criteria: Aged 16 and above in 1965 (born on or before 31 December 1949), which also means they are aged 65 and above in 2014; and Obtained citizenship on or before 31 December 1986. Click here for more information.

Pioneers receive subsidies of between 40-60%, along with $250 - $900 every year in MediSave top-ups, depending on their age. Pioneers who need to pay additional premiums because of pre-existing medical conditions will also receive an additional MediSave top-up of $50 to $200 a year until 2025.
The Pioneer Generation Package is a one-off scheme meant for the special generation who contributed to Singapore’s nation-building in our early years. Pioneer Generation members will be means-tested for SS like all other seniors aged 65 and above, and those who meet the eligibility criteria will receive SS.
