  1. Wiang Kum Kam (Thai: เวียงกุมกาม; Northern Thai: ᩅ᩠ᨿᨦᨠᩩᨾᨠᩣ᩠ᨾ) is an historic settlement and archaeological site along the Ping River, which was built by King Mangrai the Great as his capital before he moved it to Chiang Mai.

You can see 700 year old temples and ruins from a former capital city that spent many years under water before the Ping River was re-routed. Many of the temple ruins visible now were not excavated from the river bottom until the 1980s.
